Job Types

Six Job Types That Require a Mural Printer

These are the commissions that require 4m+ width and exterior-rated ink — not solvable with a vertical inkjet unit.

Stadium concourse wall with large-format mural printed at full width
Job type 01

Stadium Concourse Murals

Entire concourse wall runs, team imagery at scale. Projects typically run 25–200㎡ per commission. 4m width eliminates horizontal seams on mid-run walls.

Shopping centre atrium feature wall with large-format brand mural
Job type 02

Shopping Centre Feature Walls

Atrium murals, corridor brand installations, seasonal large-format campaigns. Retail clients expect print-ready turnaround — 25㎡/hour keeps margins workable.

Cultural institution exterior wall with public art mural
Job type 03

Cultural Institution Walls

Museum exterior, library façade, public art commission. Exterior UV-stable inks hold 5+ years without laminate — a requirement for heritage and public-sector clients.

Corporate campus exterior building side with large brand mural
Job type 04

Corporate Campus Exteriors

Building-side brand murals, outdoor campus wayfinding. Wide single-pass output keeps multi-panel installations aligned without post-print correction.

High-street café exterior with branded mural on brick façade
Job type 05

High-Street Commercial Exteriors

Café, retail, restaurant outdoor brand murals. Small footprints, high visibility. Exterior ink durability matters more than speed on these higher-margin commissions.

Job type 06

Transit & Subway Station Walls

Platform walls, concourse tunnels, station entrance murals. Long uninterrupted spans need 4m+ width to avoid seams; high passenger traffic demands UV-stable inks that hold colour without laminate refresh.

Surface Preparation

Exterior Brick and Masonry — What Preparation Your Crew Needs

Flat painted walls print direct. Exterior masonry requires a two-stage preparation.

1

Substrate Cleaning

Wire brush to remove loose material and efflorescence. Pressure wash at medium setting. Allow 24 hours to dry completely before proceeding. Do not rush this step — residual moisture causes ink adhesion failure.

2

Specialist Primer / Sealing Coat

Apply moisture barrier plus print-receptive surface coat. Primer is supplied via WallPrintBox partner suppliers and specified to the substrate type. Allow 48 hours cure before printing. Do not substitute with general-purpose masonry primer.

  • Flat concrete panels: direct print, no primer required
  • Flat painted walls (interior/exterior): direct print without preparation
  • Brick / stone / rough masonry: full two-stage preparation required. UV-stable inks rated 5+ years exterior exposure without laminate after correct prep.
